Multi-modal Perception and Control of a Manipulator

The subject will be on the multi-modal (visual/force/tactile/sound) perception and control of a robotic manipulator for performing a contact task in a small and cluttered environment. Provided solution will be used by Michelin. The manipulator needs to be controlled precisely since the environment is highly constrained. Vision alone will not be enough to perform the task and other sensors will be required such as the tactile, force and sound.

Duration: 2 years

Where: Research will be conducted at FactoLab/Institut Pascal in Clemront-Ferrand, France.Factolab is a public-private laboratory between 3 public research laboratories (Institut Pascal, Lapsco and Limos) and Michelin.
