The ERMITES 2013 Summer School brings together international leading
researchers and provides participants the opportunity to gain deeper
insight into current research trends in scaled audiovisual information
retrieval. It is organized as a series of long talks, during which
students are invited to interact. This year’s speakers are:

* C. Schmid, INRIA, LEAR, France, 'Actions Recognition from Videos:
some Recent Results'

* B. Caputo, IDIAP EPFL, Switzerland, 'Learning to Learn in Computer
Vision & Robotics'

* S. Bengio, Google, USA, 'Large Scale Image/Music Understanding'

* J. Sanchez, Cordoba univ., Argentina, 'Fisher Vectors for Classification'
* M. Cord, LIP6, France, 'Beyond Bag of Visual Word Model for Image
Representation'

* S. Paris, LSIS, France, 'Efficient Bag of Scenes Analysis for Image
Categorization'

* M. Le Goc, LSIS, France, 'Learning with the Theory of Timed Observations'

* H. Glotin, LSIS & Inst. Univ. de France, 'Sparse and Scattering for
Bioacoustic Classification'

REGISTRATION:
The target audience of the school is graduate and PhD students,
post-doctoral researchers, and may include academic and industrial
researchers as well as developers.
Graduate and PhD students should provide an abstract and a one-page
.pdf description of their research at ermites@univ-tln.fr as part of
their registration.

Any participant (including students), if they wish, can also submit a
paper (pdf file up to 6 pages, free template, to ermites@univ-tln.fr
by the 17th of May 2013). If accepted, it will be presented during an
oral or poster session and included in the proceedings.

A Best Student Paper Award will be organized.
As there is a limited number of participants (about 32), a
confirmation notification will be sent (first come first served
politic).

IMPORTANT DATES:
- Deadline for paper submissions: May 17, 2013
- Deadline for registration: May 31, 2013
- Notification of acceptance for submitted papers: June 5, 2013
