First Call For Papers for EUVIP 2014
December 10-12, 2014, Paris, France
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we take the pleasure to invite you to EUVIP 2014 (5th European Workshop on Visual Information Processing) that will be held on 10-12 December 2014, in Paris, France.
We are currently discussing with IEEE and EURASIP the technical sponsorship of the workshop and the publication of the accepted papers in IEEEXplore.
The focus of the EUVIP 2014 series of workshops is on visual information processing, modeling, and analysis methods inspired by the human and biological visual systems.EUVIP 2014 provides an occasion for rich scientific exchange on perceptually inspired image and video processing and communication methods in a friendly and supportive environment. EUVIP 2014 offers experienced researchers an intellectually stimulating environment for discussion and interactions with their peers, encourages early career researchers to widen their experience and horizons, and guides PhD students towards new research directions.
The technical program will comprise tutorials, plenary talks, oral presentations, and poster sessions.
Special attention is devoted to student contributions. Students may contribute to EUVIP 2014 by submitting a regular paper, on which the student appears as the first author. The best student regular paper will be selected for an award. EUVIP 2014 also offers a Special Student Poster session, for which PhD/MSc students can submit an extended abstract of no more than two pages. The abstracts will be collected in a booklet and distributed to participants during the conference, and the best student poster will be acknowledged with an award.
As for the previous EUVIP workshops, all the accepted regular papers in the proceedings are expected to be published on the IEEE Xplore (authorization pending). Furthermore, authors of selected articles will be invited to submit an extended and substantially improved version of the EUVIP 2014 paper to a Journal Special Issue related to the topics of Visual Information Processing.
Topics of particular interest to EUVIP 2014 include, but are not limited to:
- Image & video processing and encoding
- Image & video restoration and enhancement
- Depth map, 3D, multi-view encoding
- Visual quality and quality of experience assessment
- Computational vision models
- Perceptual image & video analysis
- Color image understanding & processing
- Sparse & redundant visual data representation
- Image & video data fusion
- Video content extraction, segmentation & summarization
- Image & video communication in the cloud
- Image & video forensic
- Visual substitution for blind and visually impaired
- Display and quantization of visual signals
Finally, PhD and MSc students willing to present their on-going research and get in touch with senior researchers may apply to the EUVIP 2014 Special Student Poster session, by submitting an Extended Abstract of two pages using a devoted track on the CMT system. Upon review, extended abstracts will be published on a printed booklet that will be distributed during the conference, and the student author will benefit of a discounted registration fee.
Demos are also welcome! The best student poster will be selected and awarded during the conference.
Regular paper submission: Perspective authors are invited to submit full-length (4 to 6 pages) papers through the submission system according to the authors? guidelines.
Student Poster Session submission: PhD student could also submit an extended abstract of no more than two pages through the submission system.
