The 16th French Conference on Machine Learning (Conférence francophone sur l’Apprentissage automatique) will take place in Marseille from July 4 to July 7, 2016. CAp is the annual meeting of the French speaking scientific community working in the field of machine learning.

The 2016 edition will include some highlights:

  • HackDay. Collaborative session for solving a machine learning task on actual data within 24 hours (Monday, July 4). http://cap16.lif.univ-mrs.fr/hackday.php
  • Machine Learning and industry. Half day dedicated to ML in industry and to applications of machine learning (Wednesday, July 6 morning)
  • Interaction of ML with other fundamental scientific fields (Thursday, July 7 morning).
  • Machine learning trends. New trends and future challenges of ML (Thursday, July 7 afternoon)
  • Invited speakers:
    • Cédric Archambeau, Research Director (Amazon)
    • Olivier Chapelle, Research Director (Criteo)
    • Gramfort Alexander, Lecturer (Telecom ParisTech)

Call for papers

The CAp'2016 Program Committee invites for submission of theoretical and applied papers in the field of machine learning. No exclusivity is required. We encourage submissions of papers that have already been submitted and / or accepted in recent major international conferences. Submissions can be made in French or English.

We call for three types of submissions:

  • "Research" communication: long paper on all topics related to Machine Learning and their applications.
  • "Industry" communication: short or long article on applications of machine learning in the industrial world.
  • "Big Picture" communication: short talk on new trends in machine learning and on its use in other scientific fields.

The length of a submission is limited to 10 pages for « research » and "industry" communications and to a 4 pages summary for « big picture » communications. Latex style (identical style to CAp 2015) is available on the conference website.

Accepted contributions will be made publicly available on the Internet via the conference website with the agreement of the authors.

La 16ième conférence francophone sur l’Apprentissage Automatique se déroulera à Marseille du 4 au 7 juillet 2016. CAp est le rendez-vous annuel incontournable de la communauté scientifique francophone travaillant dans le domaine de l’Apprentissage Automatique.

L’édition 2016 comportera quelques points forts :

  • Hackday. Réalisation logicielle sur données réelles en 24 heures chrono (lundi 4 juillet). http://cap16.lif.univ-mrs.fr/hackday.php
  • Interactions avec le monde industriel. Demi-journée dédiée aux applications industrielles de l’apprentissage automatique (mercredi 6 juillet matin)
  • Interactions avec d’autres disciplines fondamentales (jeudi 7 juillet matin).
  • Le futur de l’apprentissage automatique. Nouvelles tendances et défis à venir (jeudi 7 juillet après-midi)
  • Conférenciers invités :

    • Alexandre Gramfort, Maître de conférences (Telecom ParisTech)

Appel à contributions :

Le comité de programme de CAp’2016 sollicite la soumission de travaux dans le domaine de l’apprentissage automatique, qu’il s’agisse de travaux théoriques ou appliqués. Aucune exclusivité n’est demandée. Nous encourageons à soumettre à CAp les articles soumis et/ou récemment acceptés dans les grandes conférences internationales. Les soumissions peuvent être faites en français ou en anglais.

Nous proposons trois types de soumission :

  • Communication "Recherche" : article long sur le thème de l’apprentissage automatique et de ses applications.
  • Communication "Industrie" : article court ou long portant sur une application de l’apprentissage automatique dans le monde industriel.
  • Communication "Big Picture" : intervention orale sur les nouvelles tendances de l’apprentissage automatique et sur son exploitation dans d’autres disciplines fondamentales.

La taille limite d'une soumission est de 10 pages pour les articles "recherche" et "industrie" et un résumé de 4 pages pour les communications "big picture". Le style Latex à utiliser est accessible sur le site de la conférence (style identique à celui de CAp 2015).

Les contributions seront diffusées librement sur Internet via le site de la conférence sous réserve que les auteurs donnent leur accord.
