FIMH-2021

11 Janvier 2021

Catégorie : Conférence internationale

We would like share a few updates about the funtional Imaging and Modeling of the Heart Conference (FIMH-2021).

Functional Imaging and Modeling of the Heart, June 21-24, 2021

Conference Paper Submission
The submission deadline for the eight-page conference papers is January 22, 2021 (11:59pm PST). Please check the conference submission site to stay updated with submission instructions.

Cardiac Kinematics Benchmark
Please check the kinematics benchmark website for instructions on how to participate. We are also planning a meeting to discuss the benchmark data and objectives on Jan 8, 2021 from 11am to 12pm PST. A zoom link and instructions on how to join will be emailed using the benchmark mailing list (sign up instructions on the FIMH webpage). All benchmark participants are welcomed to attend to share ideas and questions.

Conference Format (Virtual)
While we are all increasingly optimistic about being able to travel more freely in 2021, the exact timing of this freedom remains very difficult to predict. As such we are currently planning on a virtual event for the entirety of FIMH. This seems consistent with several other meetings with similar meeting dates. Given the considerable amount of event planning, it is quite unlikely we’ll be able to pivot to an in-person event. We are also subject to state, county, and University rules at this time.

Keynote speakers for FIMH 2021
We are excited to announce the following confirmed keynote speakers for FIMH 2021:
  • Professor Stephen Petersen from the William Harvey Research Institute. He will speak as a member of the Imaging Expert Working Group for the UK Biobank project.
  • Professor Joseph Woo from the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Stanford University. He will speak on surgical repair and repair devices for cardiac surgery.
  • Professor Blanca Rodriguez from the University of Oxford. She will speak on cardiac electrophysiological modeling.
Additional Workshop (!!!)
Professor Rob MacLeod from the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute (SCI) at the University of Utah will organize an additional workshop after the main conference on June 25 to cover open source software for image segmentation, mesh generation, and uncertainty quantification. https://www.sci.utah.edu/cibc.html

Feel free to reach out to any of the conference chairs (fimh-conference-chairs@lists.stanford.edu)for questions and comments. We look forward to receiving your contributions and to welcome you (virtually!) at Stanford University! Stay up to date by signing up for the FIMH-2021 E-mail Listif you have not done that yet!
