The Advanced Wireless Technology Lab, in Huawei France Research Center, located in the Paris area, is looking for a

Research Engineer/Scientist for AI driven Wireless Network Technology

to join our Network Optimization research team, and accelerate the research at the edge of wireless network modelling and optimization. This permanent position focuses on developing (data-driven) optimization algorithms for future autonomous wireless networks.

What are your main responsibilities?

  • Contribute to the 5G (and beyond) research based on advanced AI techniques and classic optimization techniques, to enhance our ability of network resource management.
  • Propose innovative architectures and network functionalities to address energy efficiency, interference management & resource allocation, considering large scale systems, stochastic, and time-varying wireless network parameters (channel, traffic, and user distribution).
  • Understand and model time-varying network resource availability and traffic requirements, together with key performance tradeoffs, through analytical derivations and numerical analyses.
  • Publish and present latest research achievements in international conferences or journals.
  • Contribute to enrich our intellectual property portfolio.
  • Interact with wireless network researchers and machine learning experts to advance the state of the art in the field.
  • Facilitate collaborations with academics and partners.


  • PhD degree in telecommunication, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science or electric engineering.
  • Experience with wireless communication systems and signal processing.
  • Experience on system level simulations.
  • Proven successful track of publications in international conferences (main IEEE or ACM venues, NeurIPS, ICML) and journals (IEEE transactions, JMLR).
  • Experience on classic and ML/stochastic based optimization.
  • Experience on hands-on work with large datasets is a plus.
  • Experience on common tools and libraries for processing and analysis of data, such as Jupyter, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn, and TensorFlow is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
