PhD Scholarship on “Trust and trustworthiness for 6G”

A PhD position is available for a collaborative project between the ETIS UMR 8051 Lab in Cergy (Greater Paris, France) and the A*STAR, Singapore. The successful PhD candidate will spend 1.5 years in Singapore and 1.5 years in France, the order is negotiable. Ideally, he/she will also undertake a 6-month internship from March 2023 to August 2023 at ETIS, in order to kick start the project.

Starting date: September / October 2023 (negotiable if necessary), Full-time, 3-year fixed term contract

Remuneration: according to national salary scales plus conference attendance and travel expenses to Singapore / France for project meetings.

Description: The PhD student will work on the IPAL project CONNECTING Applications are sought from candidates with an outstanding academic background and MSc level expertise in indicatively one or more of the following areas:

  • Machine learning, artificial intelligence
  • Anomaly detection, IoT security
  • Wireless communications, 5G, 6G

and related disciplines. Demonstrable mathematical skills and familiarity with IoT security standards will be an advantage. Exposure in proposal writing will be an advantage.

About the opportunity and us: The PhD researcher will join the ETIS Laboratory UMR 8051 and A*STAR and will work under the supervision of Dr. Arsenia (Ersi) Chorti and Dr. Sara Berri at ETIS and Prof. Truong Huu Tram, Prof. Partha Pratim Prudu and Prof. Teo Sin Gee. In France the student will be located at the École Nationale Supérieure de l'Électronique et de ses Applications (ENSEA Grande Ecole) at the outskirts of Paris (line RER A, station Cergy Prefecture) in France. In Singapore the doctoral candidate will be located at the premises of A*STAR.

About you: Applicants must have (or be close to completion) a MSc degree in a relevant area and should be familiar with key engineering programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, etc.). Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, manage resources and prioritise tasks to achieve project outcomes will be essential. A good knowledge of the English language is required. Knowledge of French is not a pre-requisite.
